How to record a FaceTime call on a Mac
To record a FaceTime call on a Mac with the other person's voice, record the sound your Mac plays together with your microphone. Lesskeys does that with no bot and writes a transcript.

Record with sound
How to record a FaceTime call with sound
- Open Lesskeys and choose Record Call.
- Press record, then start or answer the FaceTime call.
- Press stop. The transcript is written on your Mac.
macOS asks for Screen Recording permission the first time. Lesskeys can also show a small Call detected prompt when FaceTime opens your microphone.
The missing voice
A screen recording misses the other person
The other person's voice comes out of your speakers, and a plain screen recording often leaves it out.
Apple's guide to screen recordings describes choosing a microphone, not recording the sound your Mac plays. Its FaceTime guide for Mac does not describe recording a call.

Lesskeys records both at once: record audio from a Mac.
The transcript
FaceTime call transcription
Press stop and the text is ready, with a label for each voice.
Lesskeys writes the transcript on your Mac in 99 languages, with nothing uploaded, and keeps it in the Library next to the recording.
iPhone and Windows
FaceTime on an iPhone, or on Windows
Lesskeys records on computers, not on an iPhone.
For a call on your phone, use Apple's own support pages. On a Windows PC you can join a FaceTime link in Chrome or Edge, and Lesskeys on Windows records that tab like any other call.
