Terms of Use

When you buy Lesskeys Pro, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Lesskeys Pro, for personal or business use, for as long as you wish. The license may not be sublicensed or resold.

• Mac App Store edition. You may use it on the Macs your Apple Account allows under Apple’s Usage Rules.
• Direct edition (downloaded from lesskeys.com, for Mac or Windows). One license is for one computer at a time: a Mac license for one Mac, a Windows license for one Windows PC. You may move it to another computer of the same kind up to three times in any twelve months.
• The two editions are sold separately. A purchase in one does not unlock the other.

Lesskeys is free to download. Unlocking Pro is a single purchase of $49.99 — an in-app purchase in the Mac App Store edition, a purchase through our reseller Creem in the direct edition. There are no recurring charges, no subscription, and your license does not expire.

• The app keeps working. Whatever version of Lesskeys you have installed will continue to function on supported operating-system releases for as long as your hardware and operating system allow.
• Updates are included. In the Mac App Store edition, Apple delivers new versions at no further cost for as long as Lesskeys is available. In the direct edition, new versions are posted at lesskeys.com/download at no further cost.
• The free version stays usable. Without the Pro purchase you keep five minutes of dictation a day, five audio and five video transcriptions in total, and unlimited recording.

In the direct edition, your license key is issued by Creem when you pay and is sent in your receipt email. When you activate it — or buy inside the app, which activates it for you — the app sends the key to our license service at lesskeys.com, which binds it to that computer and returns a signed confirmation that stays on the computer. After that the app does not need to contact us again. Deactivating in the app releases the license so you can activate it elsewhere. We do not maintain an account system.

Direct-edition purchases are sold by Creem⁠, our reseller and merchant of record, which handles payment, sales tax and invoices; Creem’s terms apply to the payment. We offer a no-questions-asked refund within 14 days of purchase if Lesskeys does not work as advertised on your computer — email support@lesskeys.com⁠. A refunded or disputed purchase ends the license, and its key can no longer be activated.

Refunds for the Mac App Store edition are handled entirely by Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com⁠.

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Lesskeys, except as permitted by applicable law.
• Resell, redistribute, or share license keys, or work around the license limits.
• Use Lesskeys to transcribe audio for which you do not have a legal right to record (e.g., calls in jurisdictions requiring two-party consent without obtaining that consent).

Lesskeys processes audio and transcripts entirely on your computer. See the Privacy Policy for details about what data Lesskeys accesses, what it sends online (model downloads, and for the direct edition license activation and update checks), and how it is handled.

Lesskeys is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that transcription will be error-free or suitable for any specific purpose, including legal, medical, or financial use.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall the developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of Lesskeys. Total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the license.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page; continued use after the change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
