HR interview and investigation transcription, with no bot in the call

Short answer

Record an interview, an investigation meeting or an exit conversation on the HR computer and get a transcript that shows who said what. No bot joins the call and the audio is not uploaded; whether to record at all is a decision for your policy and local law.

Illustration of an interview on a video call. The call window shows the interviewer and the candidate, and a third, empty slot with a crossed-out bot and the words No bot. Beside it the transcript fills with a label on each speaker, and one line is highlighted with a play button to replay the recording from that line. The words are an invented sample.

Three jobs

What HR does with it

  1. Record an interview call.

No bot joins the call. You tell people you are recording.

  2. Transcribe a recording made elsewhere.

A hearing, a grievance meeting, an investigation interview.

    99 languages
  3. Check a disputed line.

Play the recording from that line and compare it with the text.

Works with MP3, M4A, WAV, AIFF, MP4, MOV and M4V files. Convert other formats first.

Say it first

Tell people before you record

Get consent under your policy and local law, and say so at the start of the recording.

No bot joins, so you tell people you are recording: say it at the start of the call.

The recording

The recording stays on the HR computer

Turned into text on your computer, not uploaded.

Where you keep the files and who can open them is up to you. Lesskeys makes no claim about the privacy rules that apply to employee data: your organisation is responsible, so ask your counsel or data protection officer.

Check it

The transcript is a working copy

Not an official minute.

Speaker labels can be wrong when people talk over each other, and names, places and terms can come out wrong.

Questions

Questions about Lesskeys for HR teams

Can we record HR meetings?

Yes, it's simple. Open Lesskeys before the meeting; when the call starts in a call app or website it recognizes, a small “Call detected” prompt appears, and you click Record. If it does not appear, or the meeting is in a room, press Record Call yourself. Tell the participants first: consent rules vary, so follow your policy and local law. Lesskeys records on your computer with no bot in the call, and the audio and the transcript are not uploaded.

Who is responsible for the privacy rules when we record employee conversations?

Your organisation. Lesskeys turns the audio into text on your computer and does not upload it, but it makes no claim about the privacy rules that apply to you. Ask your counsel or data protection officer.

Can it tell speakers apart in a hearing?

Yes, it labels each speaker. You set how many people spoke (2 by default). Labels can be wrong when voices overlap, so check a disputed line against the audio.
