Trint alternative that never uploads the interview

Verdict

Trint is a cloud platform where a newsroom edits one transcript together; Lesskeys transcribes an interview on one person's computer, and the audio never leaves it.

Questions

Questions about Trint and Lesskeys

Is there a Trint alternative that does not upload my audio?

Yes. Lesskeys transcribes on your own computer: the audio file and the finished transcript stay there, and it works with no internet connection once its models are downloaded. Trint's help says its apps need an internet connection at all times.

Does Lesskeys have a subscription?

No. Lesskeys has no subscription. Trint's plan costs were not public on 15 October 2026, so check its site.

Does Lesskeys label who is speaking, as Trint does?

Yes, on your computer. Labels are automatic, you can name each speaker, and named voices are recognised in later recordings.

Does Lesskeys do collaborative editing or language conversion like Trint?

No. It is a single-user app and the files stay on your computer. If a team needs to edit one transcript together, Trint is the better tool.
