License Grant

When you purchase Lesskeys, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Lesskeys on Macs that you own or control, for personal or business use, for as long as you wish. This license is granted on a per-user basis and may not be sublicensed or resold.

What “Lifetime + 1 Year of Updates” Means

This is a one-time purchase. There are no recurring charges and your license never expires.

• The app keeps working forever. Whatever version of Lesskeys you have installed will continue to function on supported macOS releases for as long as your hardware and macOS allow.
• You receive new updates for one year from the date of purchase. Updates released after that window are not included; you may continue using your installed version, or purchase a renewal to receive a further year of updates.
• Mac App Store edition: Apple delivers updates through the App Store regardless of our 1-year window — you continue to receive new versions as long as Lesskeys is available there.

Activation & License Keys

The Direct (non-Mac App Store) edition uses a license key issued by Gumroad on purchase. The key is verified online with Gumroad on activation and roughly weekly thereafter to confirm the purchase has not been refunded or disputed. License keys are stored locally in your macOS Keychain; we do not maintain a separate account system.

Refunds

The Direct edition is sold through Gumroad, and refunds are subject to Gumroad's refund policy. We additionally offer a no-questions-asked refund within 14 days of purchase if Lesskeys does not work as advertised on your Mac — email support@lesskeys.com.

Refunds for the Mac App Store edition are handled entirely by Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Lesskeys, except as permitted by applicable law.
• Resell, redistribute, or share license keys.
• Use Lesskeys to transcribe audio for which you do not have a legal right to record (e.g., calls in jurisdictions requiring two-party consent without obtaining that consent).

Privacy

Lesskeys processes audio and transcripts entirely on your Mac. See the Privacy Policy for details about what data Lesskeys accesses, what it sends online (only license verification and update checks for the Direct edition), and how it is handled.

Disclaimer of Warranty

Lesskeys is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that transcription will be error-free or suitable for any specific purpose, including legal, medical, or financial use.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall the developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of Lesskeys. Total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the license.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page; continued use after the change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
